At RAM Printing, we strive to constantly improve our equipment and production methods with proven technologies that decrease our environmental footprint.

Aluminum Press Plates

Our aluminum press plates are all recycled after use. We are in the process of procuring a new developer which will greatly reduce the amount of waste generated during plate image development.

Ink

Our standard inks are vegetable based. All of our waste ink is collected and recycled into newspaper ink. Learn more about our Ink.

Paper

We strive to educate clients and encourage the use of recycled papers. Waste paper from every department at RAM is collected and recycled, as are all boxes.Learn more about our paper.

Our Processes.

Digital Pre-press

Several years ago, RAM Printing converted the pre-press department from traditional film-based proofs and plates to complete digital output. This eliminates film waste, film development waste, and stripping materials.

Presses

The presses are equipped with pre-press interface ink key settings which means that the time it takes to bring the color quality of a press sheet in line is minimized. This eliminates unnecessary paper and energy waste through shorter make-ready times.

Our presses also run alcohol free, rather than with the traditional water / alcohol mix.

RAM Printing has recently installed a new AGFA :Azura chemistry-free digital thermal plate system. With this new chemistry-free plate system, the imaging lasers melt and fuse together ultra fine thermoplastic particles to create a durable image on the plate in one single step. This image does not need chemical development. The pH of Azura cleaning gum is close to that of tap water. Gum contains no alkaline or corrosive agents or solvents.

Company Wide.

Throughout our plant, we collect and recycle ink and toner cartridges from our printers and copiers as well as personal use containers such as soda cans and food packaging.
